2000 f650 reverse light switch???

I work for a local pepsi company here in KS, and I am currently troubleshooting a 200 650 with th ecat engine and allison tranny. The reverse lights do not come on when put into reverse and the reverse alarms no longer functions either. I have tryed new lights, refreshing the ground connection for the alarm, and used test light to check for power going to lights, etc. I have found no power going to lights or alarm.

Does this unit have a reverse light switch that could be bad on the tranny that is not registering that it is in reverse and not sending power to the lights and alarm..? and if so where is it located?

Thanks for any insight...

On the transmission there will be some wires. I do not know which one is the reverse wire, so you will need to find a wiring diagram. Use your test light on this wire.

Also, check all your fuses.

Thanks. I think that I found it on the drivers side. by where the shifter rod enters the tranny. It has two wires exiting it also. Has fairly large wrench head on it and goes up to back of tranny to a plug. Must be it.
Will try it thanks.

reverse light delima

I am not sure which tranny it has. It is the 7.2 cat with an automatic. It has the 26000 gvw, and I did not see allison stamped anywhere on the tranny pan or what have you.

But you said the reverse light switch is on the passenger side of the tranny?
