shades

Anybody going to Tenn. for the "shades" show next weekend? Looking to see some "effies". Wanted to thank all you guys and gals for this site, I am 64 with severe RA in my hands and feet, so this site helps me stay motivated and nibbling away at the "elephant". Iam in the process of trying to build one last truck, a 55 w/351w and c-4 trans. The cab corners(all4) are gone and the roof is really rusted at the driprail, above and below. I'm also trying to find a Chrysler type ft. end. If you look at my pics at the green truck, it was built in 07. I regret to say I traded it for a 29 model A coupe. Thanks again for all the info and letting me spout off a little. Bob

Hey Bob,

Welcome. Naw Im going to past on Shades. I normally go and you typically see 5 or 6 EFFIES there. Where about you located? I noticed you said you are trying to locate a Chrysler IFS. Thanks

These yards are within 50-55 miles of you. I did a search for a driver side front control arm for a 87 Rear Wheel Drive New Yorker. They have one. There might be a chance they still have the complete Crossmember.

ft. end

Thanks for all the info on the Chrysler ft ends. What I have now in the truck is a new(came in it) dropped axle. What I am scared of is the steering set up. I've never seen any thing like it. The power box is bolted to a bracket welded side way. The lines point toward the inside of the frame. So I figured by the time I replace that with a much safer unit, add disc brakes, rebuild the ft. suspension, I will be better replacing the whole front end. you can kinda see it in my 55 album.
