I'm wiring some lights onto my rack on the bed and want to tie them into the fuse box, so I'm looking for a slot that is already wired but not used, and I see #29 is "Customer Access."

Does anybody know what this is?

also, does anybody have a list or diagram that has the color codes for the wires/fuse numbers?

He!! John, i'd wire it from there. Gotta fuse, plugs' powered up, nothing else is ran from it..id say go for it. I might just find this #29 plug, and re-wire my gauges from it.

 

my problem is figuring out which wire it is behind the fuse box. I have a couple of options on my truck that werent used, like heated seats for example....heated seats is a 30A fuse so it's overkill, but even if I did want to tap into a 10A fuse that wasnt in use I wouldnt know which wire it is.

What's the process behind taking the fuse box apart? I dont want to get too deep into it, burning something out would really tick me off.

Yes except I don't think that would fit under the fuse box cover

 

that is exactly what i used for my on board air. and it does fit under the cover in the cab fuse box.

 

Interesting, looks like I [you] just found my solution....good thing there's an autozone 1/4mi away from my office!

I still can't believe nobody knows what the deal is with fuse 29, and that nobody has chimed in about the wire color codes.

 

i think that it is # 11 under dash that i used. i want to say it is for wiper and and wiper motor.
