What is a Centurion edition?
Hi, I was wondering if any one knows any thing about a centurion ediition, I have some interest in this truck. It is a 2000 crew cab. It is a xlt with the centurion package, Are these trucks worth more than a regular xlt model? What makes these different than stock? What parts were added to this package? Did they do any engeine or any drivetrain modifications?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Conversion truck
Centurion is/was a vehicle conversion company. They were famous for taking stripped out trucks and vans and dolling them up way beyond what Ford/Chevy/Dodge would do out of the factory.
Take the VIN to a dealer and ask a parts guy/gal to run it into the parts catalog. It will tell them what the truck was originally built as.
As for what they are worth, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I have seen many of these come thru the dealers I worked at and I always thought that they were too over-done. Just my opinion...

They did some fith wheel ready truck packages just add on ss running boards vented tailgate brush guard and the cheesiest conversion van type crap interior add-on console and wood grain wallpaper, I bought one in 88 and removed all the interior crap after 2 years when it started falling falling apart, I put factory stuff back in it, they should deduct for crappy stuff if it's still in there IMHO

Centurion
Centurion got bought out several years ago by a company called Southern Comfort. They do truck conversions (like Roll-a-Long has done Fords on the west coast), and they are sold as 'Custom' packages at FoMoCo dealers. Basically just fiberglass, custom paint, wheel and tire packages, and interior 'upgrades'.
There used to be quite a few Centurions running around California, I had a friend who had one of the 'bronco things', but this was the earlier body style, a '91 if I remember correctly, with a 460 and 3/4 ton running gear. It basically looked like an early Excursion, if Ford would have ever produced such a thing.

The exterior stuff was great quality! All SS polished nice, air bags and Reese 15k hitch all that was topnotch! But the interior was sooooooo cheesy it just made the whole truck seem like a Dodge! The console was plywood! It was like a bad 70's conversion van, once I got rid of all the crap they glued over to put the wallpaper on and put a good seat back in it she was a great, comfortable truck, but I was really disappointed in the interior, I was promised it was going to be nicer than a Roll-a-Long what a lie that was!
