Ok, I need some help getting pine sap off of my truck. It was on there when I got it about 9 months ago. It is extremely hard and will not come off. I want to buff the truck but i would think the sap needs to be off. So have any tricks?

 

I use wd-40 and or gasoline, then wash n wax it. I never had a problem with any paint removal. I drive a white Expedition!

 

As long as you don't have any chips out of the paint near the sap, I would also use WD-90... WD-90 can get under the paint too, if it finds a path to fallow. How large is the puddle of sap?

 

Try a little paint thinner, or believe it or not, margarine will work too and so will coca cola.

 

If it is hard scrape it off with you fingernail or a plastic tool then wipe off the residue with any of the chemicals already listed here.

 

Two words, Jordan. Lacquer thinner. Best thing I've found to use on clear coat. I wouldn't use it on a single stage paint, though.

 

Clay bar and detailer that comes with the kit. It'll do amazing things for the rest of the finish too.

Maybe maple syrup? Like dissolves like, right!

 

As Dale stated ,bug & tar remover and or mineral spirits . DO NOT use lacquer thinner .
