You'll need to change out all of the external dress items, but yes, as far as physically bolting in, it will fit. It'll be down on a power a little bit-the F4AE NPI heads on the '95 models are the worst modular 2V heads that were ever made, and are terribly restrictive. The F5AE NPI heads used on the '96-'99 models are far better.

Thanks, what about a newer 4.6, would that be an easy swap or would it be best to stick to 96-99,.

'96-'99 would be the easiest. But, you have to be careful of some of the '99 4.6L's-the Mustang got PI heads in '99,so the intake from your truck won't match the ports on the PI heads, and the car intake won't match anything on your truck.. You could get a PI head 2001-2007 4.6L 2V from an F150 or an Econoline complete with intake manifold and swap it in. You would get a slight power gain that way, although there will be some swapping of parts between your stock engine and the replacement for everything to match perfectly.

Swap Grand marquis in F150

I wasn't able to start a new thread, the system asked me to wait 5 days (new member). Can you help me?

I’m planning to swap a 4.6L and 4r75e from a Grand Marquis 2006 in a F150 4x4. I’m about to buy a F150 2006 that needs an engine. Anyone did that? Can you help me? I just had an accident with the car, the mechanic is very good.
Is it difficult to swap the transfer case tail from the 4r70w to the 4r75r?

97 and 98 trucks could have either a Romeo OR a Windsor 4.6. and there is quite a few differences. if your truck has the Windsor 4.6, it will have the 8 bolt crank. the Romeo has 6. most cars have Romeos. I went through this. best thing to do is get an engine out of the same year truck as yours. I ended up getting a complete 4.6 for my truck as someone else tried to put a car Romeo engine in it. it was missing a lot of parts and I didn't have all of it. and my truck is a stick which I found out about the crankshaft bolt pattern.

probably will have to rebuild the tranny to fit it up to the transfer case.

what engine is in the truck? I would bet its going to be more trouble than its worth.
