First time pulling advice

So i am thinking about doing some pulling competitions, My truck is a 94.5 f-350 cclb with a 7.3 psd, I have a TW 6 position chip, a riffraff 6637, and a 3" dp, no cat no muffler and and dual 5" stacks, my truck is a 5 spd, and has 4.10 gears with 37 good year mud terains

my question is how do i launch?

what gear do i start in?

do i try to shift??

any other advice would be great as well

Second gear low range is the way to start out. With 4.10s you should be just fine. With my stock gasser I came off the line at 3500 rpms. Try to hold it there at those rpms till it gets moving pretty good. I never spent alot of time riding the clutch. I always tried to get the clutch out pretty quickly. If possible I tried to spin the tires to get my rpms up too. It'll bite when the sled gets on you. We ran 60lbs in the rear and 45 in the front on hard tracks and less on soft/ sandy tracks. That seemed to eliminate bouncing. Please post and let us know how it went and what it felt like. It's a rush!
