Need Someone Who knows Carbs Around Cabot
Any Arkansas members local to Cabot that could possibly show me how to set up my carb? I replaced it with a Holley rebuild and ever since I have to pour fuel down the throat for the first start of the day and it idles STUPID fast. I'm a bit on the dumb side when it comes to carbs, and could really use some help with someone showing me what to do. Any takers?? A 12 pack of your favorite brew would most definitely be involved.

I've never adjusted one of the 1bl, but I've done plenty of the 2bl holleys.
Idle adjustment is easy, as for the mixture I've always had to go back to the book.
Havin to prime it every time seems almost like a fuel pump problem..there should be enough in the fuel bowl to get it started, just thinkin out loud.
I'm sure if we put a few heads together we could figure it out..

Well I got it worked out. The carb base gasket was junk. Replaced that, tuned the mixture screw until I was pulling a constant 25"Hg, and set the idle to not screaming. Don't have a tach so I set it by ear. Now the only problem I have is when I use my AC the truck stalls when I come to a stop. I think the compressor is going bad on it and causing too much drag at idle. So I guess I'll just switch off the AC whenever I come to a stop until I can afford the Sanden compressor swap kit.
Mudder...are you the red 4x4 that's always parked outside the back gate??? If so your truck is beautiful.
