Question Rear Window on Cap Broken - Solutions?

The rear window on my truck cap broke recently. Window lifts failed and it slammed down shattering the rear glass. Any solutions and methods to replace it short of sending it back to the SnugTop Dealer for a replacement?
Plexiglass,PolyCarbonate, metal, wood? How to cut it to keep from damaging a whole sheet?

I was thinking make a template out of construction paper or cardboard to get the fit of the whole window channel it would sit in. And to keep from cutting a bunch of curves and angles out of plastic or plexi, make it out of a wood panel, and cut out a square portion of the middle the attach a clear panel or plexi to the back of the panel. This would give you more visibility than a solid piece. And depending on how much a plexi or plastic panel costs, you could vary the size of the opening
Good Luck, and hope I gave you an idea.
