Finally
Finally got some time to get wifeys truck put back together and runnin'.
That Y block is a beautiful sounding engine. I am in love with it. Listen to it rev in the driving vid. Whack.
This is the second firing. In the first it fired right up and ran for a few seconds and then a fluid level check. Then adjusted the idle up a bit and then started the music.
Have to thank John Mummert for his expertise and parts.
This was my first Y block build, it won't be my last.
Notice in the rolling vid how well the new power brakes work
And I have to say, I appreciate all the guys that stay pure and don't put in power steering but holy crap is it nice.
Sorry I had to use Photobucket, but couldn't get the vids to load.

Hi Guys
I know it's been awhile but you all know how that goes.
Finally getting close to being done with paint.
Here's a few pics to update where it is.
Over all it is so straight now it's almost not the same truck. Lots of hole repair on the bed and gate. As well as smoothing the spot welds on the side.
I did a few things that are not stock, such as following the body line on the side and rear of the cab that arcs around the corner.
Also I divided the dash into two colors. And the tailgate will be white instead of red.
There are a few line issues to deal with when you go out of the stock realm but we are working them out. An example would be the dash. How do you end the paint at the door without continuing onto the door.
The reason we didn't continue onto the door is that I'm trying not to go overboard and get into the show truck world ($$$$$). Trying to remember it will be a working truck. What we did do is paint the lower door panel red to continue the theme.
It's been a while but I think it'll be worth the wait.
Hoping to have it all set for the F-100 Western Nats.
