Upfitter Switches

Hey all,

I know there are other threads in other forums on uses for the upfitters, but I'm curious what folks here are using theirs for (seeing as high-idle isn't really necessary for the gasser).

I'm getting a topper installed next week, and I was thinking about running some extra lights into the box. I'd also like to hook up some aux lights on the back bumper for hitching up to the trailer. Has anyone else run lights back to the box? How did you route the wiring from under the hood back to the box?

Thanks.

I was thinking about adding some lights in the bed. So I can see at night under the cover.

I keep a back up alarm wired to a switch. It adds a lot more flexibility to the alarm than if it had been wired into the reverse lights (i.e. no alarm when I back off my driveway)

I use mine for 2 Hella 500FF friving lights mounted in the front bumper on switch#1,2 aux reverse lights mounted on the hitch switch #2,and my aftermarket backup camera off switch #3,I also added aux lights inside my cap but did not run them off of an upfitter tapped off of the hot wire for my 3-12v outlet block in the cap these lights can be rotated back for extra light outside of the cap also.

only thing i plan for is fog lights, lights in the bed after i get a cover, and maybe to switch off the sub amp if the need arises..

Aux 1 = Power supply to Relay for Lightforce 240 - Center Set
Aux 2 = Power supply to Relay for Lightforce 240 - Side of road "Moose Lights"
Both Relays are turned on by activation of the high beams.
Aux 3 = OPEN (Like the above mentioned "Smoke Screen" - Maybe mosquito foger)
Aux 4 = Power supply to Relay for Aux Back up lights - Long winter nights make this a necessity for hooking up trailers.

2011SD/Mike B,

I'm curious how you routed the wiring back to the box for the Aux back-up lights? I'm a rookie at vehicle electrical wiring, and I'm not sure how to route the wires back to the box.

Thx

I ran a hot wire along the passenger side frame and up along the firewall on the passenger side to the battery. I did use a wire loom to keep the wire protected. I ran the ground to the bolt I mounted the lights with. Then I used the pass through wire on the driver side to get into the cab.
