Memorial Weekend Silver Lake sound off...Any one pulled over?

Hey Guys,
I am local to Silver Lake and noticed a lot of cops out this weekend? In the interest of some research stemming from facebook rumblings about the affect on local businesses. How many of you got pulled over? What for? Ticketed?

Humor me and let me know. Do it via PM if you don't want it on the forum.
thanks

Loads of State, County and City police out up here. Wish they'd do it more often here. Haven't been to Silver Lake but would like to go once this year and find the "Tiki Bar"!!!

They were focusing on the corner of Fox & River Rd. Looking for U-turns or seatbelts mostly. I did see them cahse down a few people for coming out of the circle in town to fast. I stayed down by the Whippy Dip, I would guess most over that way were speeding.

I never got stopped. But I tend to not showboat anymore on the pavement.

Looked for your truck out on the sand, but never saw it.

I don't hit the dunes on holiday weekends! I usually only hit them on Sunday afternoons 3 or 4 times a year. I have enough fun watching people just driving by than to get in the sand with them.

I made it through the weekend without talking to any cops.

But then I spent most my time at the Tiki Bar or in my Gator. Never went to the sand.

I can understand sitting and watchingthem drive by. But it's nothing compared to seeing some of the *******' in action.

There was a dude up there with a blue Raptor that bent the frame from jumping it.

I enjoyed watching people rip stuff up. Saw quite a few broken front axles.

Watching people break stuff is almost more fun than driving around. That's why beer should be legal on the sand!! What a great beer drinking sport watching people break their stuff is!

Sorry I didn't make it over to see you Elwood. Headed that way a few times, just never made it. Kept getting side tracked, my buddy Larry, my cousin, Girlfriend wanting to ride bikes. Not to mention the Alchohol, with all the cops around. I know I would have been messed up trying to drive back from your place. Next time we'll get out there, maybe I'll get a motorhome from work and stay out there by you.

Beer can be legal as long as I can carry a loaded shotgun too. peppered hoods deter drunks!

Sounds like the cops there were getting a little carried away. Pulling people over for towing broke-down vehicles from the dunes, tinted windows, over height. Along with the usual, speeding, no seatbelts, etc.

the silver lake forum has a pretty good thread going on it.

Bottom line for it, is you don't do anything to warrant getting stopped they aren't going to pull you over. Some people have a hard time understanding this, 20 years ago I was one of them.....
