Spring?

This is the last week of May, isn't it? Or did I fall into some sort of temporal vortex.

And Algore believes we're getting warmer!

Of course, no one puts much stock in his beliefs any more.

'Cept maybe the folks in Salem.......

Barring the fools that visit when the legislature is in session, Salem is a very reasonable city. It isn't all that liberal, with a heavy focus on recruiting manufacturing jobs.

The global warming true believers live in Portland, Corvallis and Eugene.

This is why they are claiming "climate change" because they want to blame flooding, cold weather, hot weather, drought, tornadoes and hurricanes on us. They are just like the pagans who thought the volcano was erupting because they had sinned against their god. We've sinned against gia and she's punishing us.

Oh, that's right. It's no longer "global warming", is it?

Now it's "climate change".

Sounds more like "tune change" instead.

I have found folks from Corvallis to be rather conservative........It's Eugene that takes the prize for rabid liberalism..........You can almost smell the hemp sandals across the interstate, when in Springfield.

Corvallis? Conservative? That's not my experience and I worked there for a combined decade. There certainly are conservative folks that live there, but they are outnumbered by the liberals.

I actually mind the Eugene liberals less. They are towards the libertarian side, with a "leave me alone" attitude. The Portland liberals and the Corvallis liberals are the busybody types. They're all for all sorts of rules and regulations to tell people what to do.

Eastern Oregon has blizzards, droughts, wildfires and rattlesnakes.

The valley has liberals.

It seems you win!

Rattlesnakes are easier to reason with.

That's why I live here. I prefer the rattlesnakes. At least you know what to expect from them.

Not to mention that, Spring aside, we mostly have sunshine. It may be cold enough to freeze the nuts off of a steel bridge, but the sun will be shining. Where in the valley you start growing moss if you stand still for more than a minute.

Same here. With showers or t-storms predicted for the rest of the week. And the week after.

We're 2 inches over average this year. Which doesn't seem like much until you realize that the yearly average (July 1 to June 30) is 10 inches. The ranchers love it. Lots of free grass for the cows. The firefighters aren't going to love it so much when all that grass dries up and catches fire later in the year.

Now Dave, you can't judge all of Corvallis just from my very conservative views...
