It was mentioned before about trying to advance my engine a little so my starter might kick in properly. any information on how to do that would be appriciated.
Put a socket on the crank pulley (either use and extension or a deep well to get past the pulley). Put a ratchet or breaker bar on the socket. Turn it.
you can hear it spin but it doesnt turn the engine over. I had removed it to get it tested and when I put it back on it just made noise. some one said it might be on a bad spot.
You can try giving the starter a wack with a soft faced hammer. Another thing to try is on the big nut on the cable put the wrench on and act like you are going to loosen it but don't your goal is to turn the seloniod slightly, Because the issue you are having can be caused by the seloniod turning when you tighten the cable down on it and binding things, turn the seloniod back the other way (whitch can be done by trying to turn the nut on the cable) and you should be good to go.
