oil pump problem??

ok new problem now....on top of EVERYTHING else now ive noticed when i start my truck for the first time, my oil pressure gauge takes like 5 seconds to get to normal range, what could it be? its not the gauge because i can hear a "tick tick tick" untill it gets to normal range. did an oil change with full synthetic and fram high milage filter, and its still there, but only on inital start up and like when i come home from work, so basicly if the truck sits for hours itll do it, but not if the oils warm, like when i run errands or whatnot. oils full, not leaking, is my oil pump on its way out? please check my profile for all problems i have, none of which seem to interfear with this one, unless its the mysterious belt squeeking at idle when its warm out, but it dosent squeek during accelerating or if its cold....help please, and once again THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR SMARTS

It could just be the anti drain back valve in the oil filter , first you should change that out for a motorcraft filter or a K&N or mobile one , fram filters don't work good on fords and are on the low end of oil filter performance , just about anything made by champion labs are very good.....Lew

I agree with both members' replies. Fram = "Orange Can of Death". Oil has drained from the filter, drained from the lifters. Ironically, I think for $.50 more, a Motorcraft FL-1A filter is next to the junk Fram filters in the Wal-Mart isle.

I personally would not have switched to synthetic on this motor for obvious reasons:
-Unknown maintance for life of motor
-Higher cost

I would stick with a Conventional Motor oil, either Valvoline, Castrol, Shell, Pennzoil, just to name a few; Whatever you're the happiest with cost & convience wise and change @ regular intervals.

Years ago Fram used to be good from what I understand, but for quite some time now that is not the case anymore.
