97 Ford f350, excessive smoke/blow buy?????

I am looking at purchasing another truck and have some concerns, its a 1997 with a 7.3, it has 362,xxx, the truck was last licensed in 06, an has only been driven around the yard, but not very often. the truck starts, but not as easily as my 97, and when its idiling, it has a light constant blue haze from the exhaust, and when i pulled the dipstick up, it had smoke coming from there, and the oil cap, and also looked like some from around the CCV. Any ideas how bad this stuff is? The oil did smell pretty bad.

You could take the oil cap off and put it upside Down over the fill hole and see if it blows off or rattles off both my trucks it just rattles off my old 97 had some much you could see if coming out from under the hood and it burnt your eyes and always idled with a haze and smelled bad! How much are they asking for the truck?

The cap didnt seem to blow off, the truck has been sitting for along time and has 06 fuel in it. it seems to idle and rev smooth.

Its a 1997 Crew cab 4x4 with an auto and they where asking $2000, he dropped down to $1750 while i was there, its about 6 different colors, and still needs alot of work, interior is completly gutted, he says he has all the parts, has 4.10, and comes with an extra rear, just needs alot of little work, and i mean alot, i cant test drive it either becuase it has now brakes, one of the rear brake lines is leaking,

DANGER Will Robinson!!! I bought a truck similar to this story. It had been sitting a while , with occasional starting for two -three years because of burned UVCW when I fixed it and started driving it. The thing was smoking lightly, then went heavy and pumping oil out tail pipe. The turbo went, one vendor told me because of sitting, the oil drains away from turbo. I started running it and there she went.
