Fuel filter housing replacement

Fuel filter housing replacement
Inspection of the fuel valley found it flooded with fuel. Started engine and found a leaking fuel filter housing. Upon removal of the housing I found the metal had corroded through on the front left bottom side. Obtained a housing from ford . I noticed a little difference in the old and the new one. The wire harness for the housing on the old one is routed up under the housing support, seems it was put there to keep it off the engine for heat purposes? The new one it is just loose, it will lie against the valley and valve cover. Should I re-route it to match the old one???? And next where can I get the blue hoses for the the bottom of the filter housing besides ford. Its Sunday and ford is closed. I put in the housing and the lower hose got hung on the flange and cut it. I have the part number F4TZ-9324-DA . Package contains two blue hoses approx. 2" long each. Thx, Craig

Rerouting the wires to keep them away from the cast iron is rarely a bad idea. Temps don't get too bad on the intake and the split loom is usually adequate if it is a decent grade.
There is nothing magic about the blue hoses. You can get bulk fuel line as long as it is rated "SAE 30R9". You can search this forum and find many posts that will yield recommended lengths. And get a pack of "fuel injection" styled hose clamps.

Thanks ...
Information on proper hose was right on the money. Went down to local Advanced and bought the fuel injection hose SAE30R9. $ 6.00 per foot. Also bought fuel linjection clamps. Hard to tell when they are tight to me. But tightened with a 7mm until I saw a slight depression in hose. And I'm pleased to report truck started right up, no leaks and the job is complete. Thx for the info, helped a lot.
