Where is the cylinder head temperature sensor located on a 1999 Expedition
I need to replace the cylinder head temperature sensor on my 1999 5.4L Expedition. Where is it located and how do you change the part?
I took my vehical to brake master and they said it will cost just over $300 dollars in labor for a $20 dollar part. I would like to change this myself but first want to know exactly where it is located.
If I read right on some other forums it should be located under the head on the passenger side.

Remove intake manifold.
Disconnect the electrical connector.
Remove the CHT sensor.

Actually, it's not at all necessary to remove the intake manifold.
Disconnect the battery. (Use memory keeper if possible to save alarm and radio presets.)
Remove the alternator.
Remove sensor with 3/4 crows foot socket and swivel adapter.
Reverse procedure.
