right front axle removal
okay I have a 73 3/4 4x4 with a 79 dana 44 up front now. The right front seal at the end of the axel tube has been leaking for a while but nothing major. Well went to town and when I got back it got bad. I had gear oil all over the right side of the truck and right front is smothered in it. That seal when a year before it finally gave all the way. How do I pull the right axel out of the front? Do I have to pull the knuckle apart? It looks like it gots a flange on the axel so I doesnt seem like I can pull it striaght through the hub. also what part am I looking for only thing I can find is wheel seal. Is that what I want?

You gotta take the hub and spindle off to get the axle out. I'm thinking that there isn't a seal in the end of the axle tube. There's ones inside the differential its self that you gotta pop the carrier out, tap in with a pipe very carefully from the end of the axle tube and drive back into place.
