whats a T8D 1A trans for?
my son talked me into dragging the trans out of the corner the other day. i am not sure how i came to own it. i either got it with the flathead i bought for the mh years ago, i think it came out of a f1 monkey face, or i got it with the 52 f3 mh when i drug all three loads of that truck home. it just dawned on me i should go lay under the f3 and see if the trans are the same, but i have typed this far so im just gonna push the submit button. thanks all

F1 Borg Warner T-87D: A8C-7001-A / Case marked 3D / 1948/56 Ford truck parts catalog sez: H/D, lip of clutch housing has two cut-outs.
F2/F5 Borg Warner T-87D: 8J-7001-B / No case marking listed, nothing mentioned about clutch housing.
T-87's will also be found in 1953/66 F350's and were an option for like years F250's.

I typed in T9 in google, and it comes up with a light duty 5sp. for the Ford Capri, lol. BUt you're not that far off, as on Van Pelt's website, he refers to the 4sp. as a T8 ( http://www.vanpeltsales.com/FH_web/t...ruck4speed.htm ), but in his parts/price listing he labels it T8/T9.
