1997 F150 4.2 Catalytic Converter Help
Good Day,
Can anyone help on this one. I have to change my catalytic converters on my F150, can I go to one cat on each side and achieve good results on the smog test? The price of 4 cats plus pipe is out of this world. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you gotten codes that refers to poor cat performance?
If so are they for both banks?
Trying to do what you are wanting is questionable after you get them in.
The rear cats have a sensor in the cat body not in the pipe after the Cat.
If it does not work out, you are still up against it to replace the whole assembly again and wind up spending more than doing it right the first time.
All the joints must be absolutely leak tight with the cats welded onto the pipes.
Here we can get the both sides complete for about $750 +/- by Walker a well known mfger.
Good luck.
