VERY slow and noisy Windshield wipers!

I have a 1992 F250 4x4 and the wipers are REALLY slow. Even on the fastest setting they seem like they are on low. All the speeds work and the intermittent speeds work too, but it takes at least 3 seconds for them to make one swipe. I did a search and saw something about cleaning the switch on the turn signal, but didn't know if the motor was bad? It is also making the clicking noise under the passenger's side dash board. Thanks for any help!

The module is located on the pass side and you should only hear clicking in the intermittent settings. Check the voltage at the motor and any ground wires in the area.

Thanks for the reply! That is correct, there is only "clicking" on the intermittent settings. I took the turn signal a part and cleaned it out and that seemed to help a little bit, but it still seems slow. Maybe things were just slower back then?

It's probably the wiper motor going out. My brother's 94 bronco, and my truck's motor was crapping out. I think they're about $30 bucks for a new one from CarQuest.

They're not *too* hard to replace. I had to take my hood off to get the vent along the bottom edge of the window so you can get to all the bolts.

You need to make sure you get the right one, some motors have two plugs and some have one plug.
