Removing DEF/CAT/UREA

Hmm, while I don't have any technical suggestions, I would just point out the obvious. Hopefully the neighbor understands the warranty would become void after the mod you describe. Umm, be careful. Take pix. Post results. Maybe get a disclaimer from neighbor. I'm not trying to be smart a@@, but there is a lot of curiosity about modding and tuning these trucks. Interested to see their full potential. Just not ready to sacrifice my virgin yet.

so far my truck has gotten 18.5 mpg on the highway with WINTER fuel, this is exactly what my '93 dodge cummins single cab 2wd truck got on the same fuel. that truck weighed 2000#'s less was not 4wd and was much lighter, it also had no electronics, cat, or for that matter any pollution controls. these trucks are regarded as getting the best mileage of pretty much any diesel full size truck.
the point is my 2011 is matching what that truck did, as a result at this point I think its foolish to remove the pollution controls on these trucks, if they drank fuel like the 6.4's then yeah by all means get rid of it, but they don't.

You are already at 400/800, why would you need anymore? Any increase in hp or fuel economy by voiding the warranty on $50,000+ truck IMHO is stupid. Hope the company supplying the tuner will replace his warranty, not likely, or the owner has the money to replace the engine if necessary.
Big gamble just so you can say it's "tuned". Good luck.

Shes all done, took 3 hours to complete start to finish. that included the tuner install (black maxx) and removing the exhaust components.
Tuner does modify the programming for the DEF so on and so forth. truck has a significant increase in power and response also sounds MUCH better.
didnt take any pics...
pretty straight forward install too.
PS the tuner has go to be one of the easiest I've seen to date!

as to sounds, that is my favorite thing about the 6.7 it doesn't have ANY. my truck passes the drive through test every time. its so quiet at highway speeds you can't tell the truck is a diesel.
I hope you guys didn't straight pipe the truck v8 diesels sound horrible straight pipped. got a neighbor with a dmax that sounds aweful, while taking a shower I can hear that stupid truck drive to the end of the street and turn before I stop hearing the sound. no v8 sounds good straight pipped, the cummins does sound like a peterbuilt but even that I have grown tired of. it also adds NO horsepower and does nothing but make noise.
