How about a 360hp 5.0L V8 shoehorned into an Escape?!

The 2011 Escape with the sport package is one sharp-looking little SUV. How about a SVT AWD(4WD) version with a F-150's 360hp 5.0L V8? Found a '02 Escape XLT with a blown engine(3.0L V6) for cheap last weekend. Hmmmm....a V8 Escape. Ford Engineering Dept, I'm looking at you(s). Power to weigh being the key to performance. Or a really "hot" V6, hey, I'm getting into the whole V6 thang now

Now there is a cool V8 engine swap! Too bad none exists to put a V8 into an Escape. Even a 4.6L Explorer or Mustang engine would be a really cool swap! I know Ford shoehorned a blown 5.4L(ala' Lightning version) into a itty bitty Ranger in 2002. I'd like to drive that monster just once!!!! Probably be wanted in several states If you could catch a supercharged 5.4L (420hp) Ranger. Not that I condon such childish behavior

Just found a really cool article online from Motor Trend (August 2001) about a Kenne-Bell supercharged Escape 5.91 seconds 0-60 and 14.41@93.9 in the 1320. Impressive...

There used to be a bolt in kit for the 5.0L into a Focus, maybe still out there. Think they had one for the 4.6 also. Can you say "Sleeper"?

That is exactly what i was thinking, but put there new V8 ecoboost from the 2013 F-150, lower the suspension, fit wider tires, sharpen the steering a little more (its good already but just more sharper response for the power), and the most critical part of the whole entire thing. I NEEDS TO BE REAR WHEEL DRIVE. The front wheels could not hold the power, the Focus RS already has that problem and the escape is big enough to convert to RWD or use some of germany's audis AWD technology, not like chevy going to the australians.

I did a quick search myself out of curiosity, but found no kits.

That would be as much fun (maybe more) than the 5.0L powered 1973 Mazda RX4 my dad built.

I'm guessing the stock driveline would need to be completely swapped since that kind of HP would exceed the design and surely find all the weak points even if the bolt up was possible...
Maybe some cut down axles off a Bronco or something would do.

Reminds me of a mechanic that used to work at my brother's shop. He stuffed a 440 in an Omni! Had to lift it and used an axle out of a Dodge 3/4 ton converting it to RWD. Ugly, but FAST....at least when it was running!

Was drooling from the day they came out with the 302 (sorry old school guy here-no metric for me LOL) mounts to bolt into the BII's.
A 302 would snap CV's on our Scape's like chicken bones guys LOL!
