6.0 Bell housing pattern same as modular engines?

Is the bell housing bolt pattern used on the 6.0 powerstroke the same as the one used on the modular gas engines (5.4 & 6.8)? I've been searching the web and some say they are and some say they aren't. -Thanks in advance

That's a good question and probably year model dependant. I thought some of the 6.8's used the 5R110 but not sure.

Thanks for the replies, Yeah that's what I was trying to figure out for sure if all of the 5r110's are the same case and pattern like I have heard, and if that pattern is the same as say a 4.6 mustang engine..(not putting a torqshift in a mustang, however a 6.0 in a mustang would be interesting.. just need to take measurements of the bellhousing pattern to make an adapter for one and if they are the same pattern I can find an old mod engine transmission alot cheaper to get my measurements)

The 6.0L uses the same bolt pattern as the 5.4L and 6.8L.

That would be pretty awesome, one of the fastest 7.3's in the quarter is in a 1st gen lightning. But on the bellhousing question, I just realized that the 6.0 has a removable adapter/rear cover, and i can just get one of those for measurements.

Sorry Mark, didnt see your reply. Thanks for that info though, do all of the modular engines have the same pattern or did they change the 5.4's and 6.8's in the SD's?

Nothing like reviving an old thread, but I am trying to make sure I don't have an issue with the swap I am working on. The truck is a 1999 6.8 4x4 5sp manual case. Transmission is broken in half. Output shaft spline is 24 from what I can find out researching these old threads. The donor truck is an 06 6sp 6.0 4x4 with esof. IF I am right, the transfer case I will need is a 34 spline Manual. Are there any other differences in the transmission / transfer case that will prevent the swap?

What exactly are we attempting to achieve? For clarity, the 6.0L diesel MANUAL and AUTO use completely different bellhousing bolt patterns, meaning a manual transmission from a 6.0L will not bolt up to another 6.0L if it came originally with an auto behind it, or vice versa. For further clarity, what makes the auto and manual versions of the 6.0L different is the engine rear cover/adapter plates. If what you are attempting to achieve, is to use the manual transmission originally bolted up behind a 6.0L diesel to your 1999 6.8L V10 gas, it will NOT bolt up to it.
