Ecoboost torture test videos?
I thought the videos were Great to showcase the new engine. But even as a lifelong for fanatic I am a little skeptical at the head to head video. I just can't believe the Eco boost is that much faster than the dodge hemi and chev 5.3. It is like the other 2 gives the ecoboost a head start and lets them win. no way would the ford be that much faster. I like the new engine and have one ordered but i still have my doubts it is that powerful. What do you all think?

It'd be nice to see a third party doing the tests and showing the same type of graph. Only then could I believe without a doubt.

The best way to know is with real world driving. I am very skeptical of the torque graphs from Ford. The reason being, I have test driven both EB and 6.2L. I have clearly found the 6.2L to have more "pull" throughout the RPM bandwidth. The graphs from Ford don't show it like this at all. What the graphs show and what I "felt" with driving both engines were two different things. This is my opinion of course. Everyone will feel the torque differently I guess.

The graphs we have all seen from Ford are numbers produced at the crank of the engine. Put the trucks on dynos and the numbers will be very different at the wheels. This is where Ford could always dispute their testing.

I will probably purchase a EB in my next truck. I believe it will suit my needs better than the other options. The torture test isn't what sold me on the EB. I am still skeptical of "simulated mileage". I would have liked to known the actual mileage on the truck. I would have also liked to see maintenance records to see if there were any problems with the engine they had to correct during testing.
