Hunter GSP9700 Wheel vibration Control System solves wheel vibration and tire pull problems that balancers and aligners can

 

Well folks ! I love my truck and would really like it fixed. On 9/30/2011 Ford customer relations told me they were done working on my truck for this problem. To just give the history, vibrates between 40-45 mph, I have tried everything I can possibly think of to get rid of it. The dealership has been great :16 tires,8 new wheels,new rear driveshaft,new rotors,tranny reflashed and updated,diff. apart 3 times,shaved and roadforced the tires(michelins now).
Ford has told me it is within specs and a natural characteristic of the f250
to vibrate.
Sorry Ford not right! I have been very patient throughout this ordeal, but telling me your done was the wrong reply.
I have now filed Lemon Law on this truck after them keeping it 22 days this last time, over 30 plus in total. The legal team took the case and will be pursuing Ford.
I really hate doing this, and still looking for answers before I get into another truck.
2011 f250 lwb crew cab(pure stock) 12,500 miles
Lariat/auto/4x4/18" wheels
3:31 gears
tow 11,500 (loaded) 34ft TT occas.

 

According to what I have been told, it is a simulated pressure balancing applied to the tires.

 

Not sure if this will help but this sounds exactly what was happening recently with my sons Jeep. We put larger tires and wheels on it, 32" so nothing too big, Goodyear Silent Armour. Immediately had a vibration between 40-45. Rebalanced, rotated, aligned, had the entire front end and steering checked and finally Road Force balanced them, all with no change. Finally got Goodyear to work with me and swapped the tires to Goodyear Duratracs. Vibration went away. Only thing we can figure was the that setup with that tire just didn't work with the vehicle.

Do you have the stock tires on? Either way if you can I would swap to a different brand or size tire even if you are running the stock ones. Just to know.

Unfortunately, there are several members stating they are having this issue. Once member even test drove several 2012's with different packages and all had it.. so it could just a be a characteristic. I get the 49 and 74 mph vibration and that's it, other than that truck is great. I have never towed anything either. The only thing i can think of is check motor mounts. One member checked his and found the nuts were about to fall off.

 

I have exactly the same truck with no vibration problem at any speed. I have 275/70 18inch contententals on it from the factory. I don't particularly like the tires but they are wearing OK and no vibrations. I hope you are able to resolve your situation to your satisfaction. This sounds like another case that Ford has not been stellar in there performance. If they cannot fix the problem then Ford should have offered to repace the truck themselves. Has the same dealer been doing all of the work with "competent" technicians . Good luck.

 

Well got the letter from Ford legal analyst on 11/5/2011 says the case is considered closed and it is comparable to other units.
I quote "the vibration is a normal characteristic of typical operation of this vehicle and that the vehicle is operating within Ford specifications".
Sorry Ford not done with you yet!

 

Like I said earlier, it may be the tire combination like was the problem my son had. For a lack of what other direction to go I would suggest swapping to the 18" wheels and see what happens. Like he said above, same vehicle with 18" no vibration. I also have 250 CC SB with 18's no vibration. I don't recall anyone having this problem with 18" wheels, only the 20's.

Just a thought and just labor cost if the dealership will work with you, swap them from a truck on the lot. If it works then you can fight it out with Ford that it is not a "characteristic of the truck", it is caused by their tire wheel combination. Also, if it was a characteristic of the truck we would all have it and we don't.

Already done that 2 times. Found out through Discount Tire there was a problem with the Continentals from O.E.,tried thre sets of them now has Michelins on it with another set of wheels.

 

Just want to clarify, your truck came with the 20" wheels but you have tried it with the 18" wheels and it still has the vibration? I also have the Continentals.

 

Well it came with the 18" continentals and we tried three sets, then they took another brand new truck and swapped tire/wheel assemblies complete. Still 18" wheels and michelins now.

 

Anyone find a solution to the vibrations on the new super duty's. I have a 2012 F-350 6.7 that has had a vibration from day 1. You can feel it in the floor at all speeds and very noticable at highway speeds. I've had the truck 3 weeks and it has been in the shop over 2 weeks. They admit that something is wrong but after changing drivelines, u joints, yokes and tires and wheels the vibration and noise are still there. Don't know what to do.

A couple people of asked about the e-lockers but I have never seen a response to see if that maybe the issue.
I recently leveled my truck and now I notice the vibration problem between 45-48 mph. I have bigger tires as well. I usually can let off the gas for a few seconds and let it roll and get back on the gas and most of the time the vibration stops. Mine is not really bad but noticeable, so far I can live with it. Not sure where the problem is at, hopefully someone figures it out.

Hope you get a resolution soon. Just a thought; that 4 wheel drive **** hiding behind your transmission shift lever does point to the 2, right? I don't mean to be a smart a**, I just know that thing is hidden pretty good and is often over-looked.

 

Hollywood, good luck I can definetly relate. Wish I could help with some advise but Ford has done everything possible to include pissing me off now. Its in the lawyers hands now!
