DASH PAD

The dash pad on my truck was painted tan. It is starting to peel. The original color is black and I would like to strip it to the original molded color.Anybody know what would be a good, safe way to do this with out damaging it?

Also, How hard is it to remove the pad? Ideally, I would like to take it off and do it.

Thanks guys, Todd.

Found removal info

I found out how to remove the dash pad. I still would appreciate some input on what to use to safely strip it without damaging the vinyl.

I figure the guy painted it tan because it matched the brown interior and the truck was originally from AZ and considering the heat situation tan is better than black.

Unfortunately you are kind of screwed. I don't think there is a chemical stripper that will remove the paint without turning your vinyl into a nasty goo. You may want to try carefully sanding the paint off and repainting.

rustranger there are about 14 bolts around the perimeter of the dash that secure it. You have to remove the gauges, ashtray, radio, and glove box to get to them
