How can you tell how much your truck weighs

NEW QUESTION
All the figures for towing trailers and 5th wheels and bed loads are all in the brochure. They talk about Combined Weight and other weights.

Question:
How much would a 2x4 Supercab with an 8ft bed and a 6.2L engine weigh?
Without taking your truck to a Cat Scale how can you tell how much your truck weighs?

Short of getting your hands on a Ford Sourcebook for the Super Duty, you're likely not going to know without putting it on a scale. The Sourcebook give the individual weights of each option which you can add to your base curb weight to get an approximate total weight. Still, the most reliable method is to weigh it on a CAT or other certified scale.

Too bad they don't do it like when a trailer is made and it is weighed dry and a sticker put on the side.

I read in a post on here one time that it's on the window sticker but I've never seen it.

I have heard that the "Curb Weight" is on the actual invoice... & it seems that I saw it there - although I do not have the invoice & cannot verify.. I ran mine by a scale the other day & now my 4x4 SC long box - with pipe bumpers, tool box (full), full tank, me, & Rebel (80# Lab) - weighs 8280#....

Take me & the dog out - 8K...

I bet your tool box weighs at least 200 lbs. so that brings your 4x4 down to 7600 lbs

So now if my truck is a 2x4 then I could remove about 500 more lbs
So now we are around 7,100 lbs which sounds reasonable with a full tank of fuel.

I'd bet the box - when full is closer to 500 (box & contents) - I carry a lot of tools & other things in it - Heck I could live out of it for about a week or so...LOL

Run it across a scale. It's the only good way. I scale every truck I buy so I know what it's capabilities are. My newest one, a 2011 F550 rollback weighs 12,500 fully loaded with me and a full tank of gas.
