i use my truck daily 460 big block we all know doesnt do great on milage right now im getting 11mpg im going to change the rear end gears the problem i have is; i was wanting to know could a set of gears out of a dana 60 non floating axel work in a dana 60 full floating axel
i would like to stick with an auto to keep the truck somewhat stock but a manual would be nice now is the bolt patteren on a 7.3 the same as a 460?
No, the diesel uses a different bellhousing bolt pattern.
There is an option for auto trans with OD. The E4OD was used behind 460's in later model trucks. Only drawback, they require a controller to make them work, as they are electronically controlled.
No, you'll need a 5 speed out of a 460 to fit a 460. No other engine had the same bell housing that the 460 has. (no other big block had a 5 speed, so only 460 5 speed will fit)
