Hi everyone, We are located in Trinidad (Caribbean) and just bought a 1977 Ford F350 Dually.

Are the parts interchangeable between a 77 F250 and a & 77 F350 ? ( Body, Suspension, Brakes, etc)

Reason I am asking we are trying to buy some parts from LMC, and the guy said he does not know as they don't have a tech guy there. LMC catalog only goes up to a F250.

I know most of you guys are gurus when it comes to Fords so I hope that some one can help me on this.

P.S. Does any one have a 77 F350 Dually Tray (BED) they are willing to part with?

There must be some one on here that can tell me if the 77 F350 and 77 F250 parts are interchangeable.

 

I guess you could try Rock Auto. They ship places in the US and Canada so they may ship to you.

Body- is the same trim level for trim level.

Suspension- bushings interchange, but not much else.

Brakes- usually are the same, but the caliper maybe different

For the most part F350 and F250 parts are the same, but enough is different to make things finding parts annoying. I would go with rock auto like Ziegelsteinfaust suggested, they have excellent prices as well.

As far as I know the cab fenders and grill (every body part except the bed) on a F350 are the same as a F250, and the F150 and F100.

The engines in the truck should be the same as the F100-F150-F250-F350, but there may be some transmission differences. Your rear axle will most likely be a DANA 70, a real nice heavy duty unit.

This is a great site for comparing parts, NAPA Online but I'm not sure if they ship out of the states or not. Either way it should help you figure out what parts interchange or what you need (they usually have pictures of each part and a chart to show what it fits)

Thanks for all the help. I was 70% sure the body was the same. Just needed confirmation.
As for the engine it is a 429 with a 4 speed manual box. ( Don't know what type of box)
I am in the process of stripping the truck. So far the cab seems to be in good condition, very slight rust.
From what we found so far we will need a master cylinder rebuild kit, all the rubber moulding & weather stripping, wind screen, hood and lowering i-beams.

I can't seem to find any info on a dually bed. I did see one picture online of a truck like mine with a dually bed but think he had it custom made or converted his rear to a dually.

All 73-79 dually trucks were sold as Cab-Chassis units or came with a factory flatbed. No factory dually beds were made, it will have to be custom. Also, the calipers are the same btwn the f250 and f350 if they are both 1976.5 to 1979 and have dual pistons.

you might try to find a bed from a 77 and then some stepside fenders, if you can body work you could make that look about right i think. just a thought, not sure about it tho.

 

My brother has a 1977 F-350 dually that he just mentioned he's thinking about letting go of. It needs a new transmission (you can get one at a salvage yard for about $150), has a crack in the windshield, and some of the wood in the flatbed is no longer good (it sat for 2 years). The reason he doesn't fix the transmission is that it's a gas guzzler and he doesn't really want to drive it anymore. It looks fantastic. The interior is very clean and comfy. The exterior is also very nice. BTW: it was once a city truck, so the miles are very low. The engine is excellent. He's pretty fond of the truck and it's hard to part with it. But, he doesn't want it to just sit there anymore.
