Cab tag Decode please

Some of this is obvious, but the rest I don't know.

The tag on the firewall reads:

F26YRC31472.....................................18-152

YA 133 ....BDY.....4N(W maybe?)AR
JA COMB.....MLD....XLT.....RKR
......Y..............................CAB

Thanks fellas!

Is this the tag on the firewall? If it is, it's a "buck" tag. These were used by the assembly line workers durring the building of the truck.
Not all trucks had buck tags.
As far as I know there is no "decoding" these tags.

ah I see. Dang that sucks. Someone swapped a 76 150 driver door in at some point so I don't have the tag there. I guess I'll never know what this truck came with. Thanks for the reply, I learned a new term anyways.
Entering buck tag into the brain database.lol

Thanks for the reply. I've had the actual vin decoded, of which you are correct, it's some of the rest that I dunno about. I mean obviously 133 is the wheelbase, XLT is just as it says. 4NAR is some type of 4x4 designation I'm guessing. But like what is COMB, or YA, or JA, or MLD, or RKR!??! lol If mike says there's no way to decode it, I'm not gonna keep up any hopes.

If you have the VIN you can get an original build sheet from Ford for free. It just takes a few weeks. Mari Auto Works can do better, but you have to pay for the info.

Niiice! how do I go about doing that? When you say they can do better, do you mean time frame wise?

They offer more detail for more money. Check out their website. I should say for the more expensive reports. Their basic one I think is what Ford will send.

Marti Auto Works - Concourse Quality, Hobbyist Price

I believe this is where I asked Ford about the original build sheet than I received an email that stated the question was being forwarded to the history department and then a few weeks later I received it in the mail.

Glad I can help. Through Marti, you can also order new door jamb sticker and VIN plate if needed.

So I was going to get the one from ford first. Is it just impossible to contact them online? In the link to them that faq search doesn't work no matter what I type in. And when I try to contact them by email they require the vin number, which they of course say that our 11digit vin is not complete. Do you just have to call them?

You might have to now since the idiots probably are just taking the word of a computer and have no insight to old trucks. If you call, they should be able to direct your call. Just can't find good help these days. I got mine 4 years ago, so things may have changed a little or just depends on who took the email from you.

If you do plan on getting a tag and sticker, than I'd just go with the Marti Report.

Well you can't even email them without the vin#. And an 11digit vin apparently doesnt exist in their computer. I guess I'll just call them then. I do want to get the Marti report, but I'd probly get the $15 one and then the $60 report on how many were like it and such. Just out of curiosity.

For now I dont have 85 bucks for it. So I was gonna just get the free Ford sheet. Thats before I new their site was also Sheet. lol

I was browsing around with Ford's Websites and I think I found the one that I used. When I posted the previous link for you, that came directly from the Tips/Tricks sticky, but I didn't remember going through that link. But, it's been awhile and websites change. However, I think when I inquired about a build sheet, I actually emailed Corporate using this web page. I emailed the information/VIN of my truck and someone from Ford had forwarded it. I couldn't find my email, I must have deleted it. Might be a try if you prefer email.
