1997 F-150 steering column repair
It started when my ignition swith would not move from the run postion. I was able to start the truck but to turn it off I had to pull wires. I assumed it was the lock & key cylinder malfunctioning but the new one does the same thing. I have sucessfully pulled apart my column and found I need a new upper shaft spring and shaft bearings but I can not figure out how these parts relate to my ignition switch not turning back. My intention was to find a broken plastic ignition actuator but it seems to be in tack. I have not looked at the lower plastic actuator because it looks like a lot more work. Any suggestions would be appreciated before I go any furthur.
