Diehard Gold Battery ?

so just recently bought 2 diehard golds (120.00 each) and started to replace, i started on the d side for whatever reason, and the posts on the new bat are smaller.....i bought shims and that didnt work, so i bought new cable ends and same thing couldnt clamp them down good enough was able to "make" shims work with new cable ends. havent done other side not sure what to do about the big azz positive cable. has anyone else run into this prob with small battery posts, just wonder if im better off taking back 2nd bat to find one with bigger posts? any thoughts or info?
thanks

All automotive batteries are manufactured with the same size posts. The Positive and Negitive posts are different in size though. Are you sure the ends you bought were the correct ones? Or maybe the cables are worn or have been overcleaned. Batts could be factory defect but would be a first that i have heard.

Something is odd there. I just Put 2 new ones in my truck 2 weeks ago and no issues. Post were same as old ones. You may have gotten a bad battery or put a positive terminal on the ground cable. just a thought.

i have never had an issue like this, but i found it odd that the parts store sells "shims" and all it is is a "cap"! i know the terminals (on truck) are old, and have prob been clamped to tight to many times, i am returning to sears this week just to see if it is a bat prob, and more than likely i will be replace cable ends.
thanks for the input guys
