Theres so many ways to put belts on these.

My 7.3 with no A/C

First belt closer to radiator goes from: Crank to Fan, from Fan to P/S pump.

2nd belt (middle one) goes from crank, fan, then vacuum pump

3rd belt closer to block goes from crank, fan then Alternator.

My Alt has a dual belt pulley but haven't really used it.

On my Factory (not dealer) A/C 6.9

First belt closer to radiator goes from crank, fan then A/C compressor

2nd middle belt goes from crank, fan, then P/S pump

3rd belt closer to block goes from crank, fan, then Alternator

Then theres a 4th small belt from the Alt that goes straight down to the vacuum pump.

I am pretty sure that's how they are from the factory.

ok thats how mine is - the ac part i thought maybe someone changed up the belts as 1 is a cog not a smooth belt

You got a 2-groove P/S pump pulley, right? And you only use its front groove, the rear one is empty like the front groove on the alt pulley? On all non-A/C trucks I've ever seen both the front and the middle belts go crank-water-P/S (so the P/S pump has two belts driving it), and the vacuum pump gets driven off the alt pulley like they are in the factory-A/C setups... Which would actually be great for hydroboosted trucks cause there the P/S pump serves double-duty, but for the vacuum-assisted trucks what you describe sounds like a better idea.

Yup, both Alt and P/S pump on the 7.3 have dual belt pulleys.

It's my dad that set 'em up like that on the 7.3 when he changed for the very first time the belts on it. He thaught it would be a better settup than having that little belt drive the Vacuum pump from the Alt. He found it pretty useless to have 2 belts driving the P/S pump for his application.

So each acceserie has it's own belt off the crank/fan.

It's a pic off of Banks website. It was used for advertising the Sidewinder System.
