Throttle Body Repair

My mechanic said the throttle body on my F-350 needs replacing. The CEL gives off a code indicating air leaks in the body. I'm wondering if it can be repaired or if I can just clean it using a TB cleaning solution. Please help---really need some advice!!

What codes are you getting? There is no clear-cut code that indicates the throttle body is leaking. IMHO find a new mechanic.

The only place it could be leaking air would be around the shaft for the butterflies, or at the mating gasket to the intake. If you do need another one I suggest visiting a local junkyard.
