Just clicked to join.... lookin' for local knowledge!

Hi all,

I just signed up for the chapter and hope to enjoy the ranks. I occupy space in Glen Rock, York County and own two Ford F-350's, one of which just followed me home this past weekend.

Old dependable is a 1989 F-350 SRW 4x4 with the ever famous 7.3 IDI. It's a beast, there's pics in an old post on the 7.3 pre-powerstroke page.

The "new" ride is a 2004 F-350 SRW 4x4 with the ever debated 6.0 PSD and a 6spd grinder.

Being I'm new to the PSD world and the 6.0 has an interesting reputation, I'm hoping to call on the chapter for some local help. Looking for a trusted and reputable diesel tech in the greater York / Hanover / Glen Rock area that's good with the 6.0 . I have a short warranty on the truck and need someone who knows the game to give it a thorough physical exam (including the gloved hand) to catch anything major before the magic warranty expires. There are a ton of local shops and I'm looking for input on who's who in the 6.0 world!

Any input both positive and negative is greatly appreciated.... feel free to drop me a PM if you'd like to share bad experiences, may help keep trouble off the board. I'm gonna post this up in the 6.0 PSD thread too.....

Thanks and stay safe!

Hey and welcome Hand clutch. I'm not that far from you. Mine is a 7.3 but I know head stud on the 6.0's go out. May want to replace them. There is a get together next month at Bill Bateman's In Hanover a good chance to meet some members.

Look up Paul Freda in the chapters member list and shoot him a PM or e-mail, he's the 6.0 guy for Ford.
