Arrow Pictures of processors

I've had quite a few people ask for pics of processors so decided to add a sticky for it. If you have pics of your system post them here for others to look at!

I will sticky this thread but not lock it, so everybody can have access.

Let's see if we can help others to get started!

OK, I'll go first. Compared to some of the regulars here, my set up is probably the most primitive, but it works well for me. I water wash. My 55 gallon drum processor is also where I spray dry my bio after washing.

Here's the setup with heated standpipe wash tank to the left, processor in the middle, and pneumatic drill powered keg methoxide mixer to the right. Both wash tank and processor have 220v heating elements wired 110V thermostat controlled.

Here's the simple processor plumbing. This is fed into a cheap HF blue pump which has, surprisingly, held up well processing and drying just over 1500 gallons of bio. I am currently constructing a new processor which will have a Pedrollo pump. Better quality and much safer.

I threw some pics of my conversion and my grease shack in my picture album. Nothing fancy, I'm filtering with a bowl-type centrifuge & burning WVO in a 2-tank system (modified Vegistroke V3) on my Excursion, not making bio.

Here's my processor, a pretty much bone stock Appleseed design made from a 40-gallon Home Depot water heater and currently installed on my 5'x8' trailer:

And here's my three WVO storage barrels and my wash tank:

Not pictured is my "super sucker", made out of a 50-gallon propane tank, which is also mounted on my trailer.

The processor and wash tank plans and parts kits were purchased from Utah Biodiesel Supply (great folks!) and the Super Sucker plans were purchased from Murphy's Machines.

I have tons of pics of the plant throughout the build. Can't seem to figure out how to post on here. Don't think i'll get in trouble as the process was propritory not the set up/fabrication of the plant

The easiest way is to post them to a place like photobucket and then you can add the link in the post or use the picture icon and add the url to the specific picture. Photobucket makes getting the links very easy.

Here's my setup

This was during the processing of my first 20 gallon batch. Bought the processor, half drum of methanol, NaOH, filters, pumps barrels, etc. from a CL ad for $700. First batch was a success! Running about 30-40% ratio now. Getting up my nerve for a full 40 gallon batch next week.

Wink

Curt I have the same unit bought nearly 10 years ago. Sorry not smart enough to figure out how to post pics.Shut down now for winter but it has served me well.
Only brewing right at 600 gallons a year
Don't worry about 40 gallon batches its easy, I have never ran a 20 gallon batch

That was my first attempt at cooking, and I’ve probably made about 10 40 gallon batches successfully since then. If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s to take time at each stage and let stuff settle out. It usually takes me about 2 weeks to make a batch.
