'61 Uni - keep stock or not
i have included some pics of my '61 in my gallery/albums.
great looking truck inside and out. I think I might keep it stock.
I wanted a '61 because i was born that year and thinking i wanted kids/grandkids to see how they "used to be and look"
thoughts on keeping stock? i haven't seen many of these period, especially in this shape

Do it up how YOU want it to look. Screw what anyone else thinks.
if it is now a very nice and original truck it may be best to keep it that way, if its already been modified its probably cheaper to keep it modded. Its totally up to YOU!

Brakes, steering and air (because I live in California) and the truck is for my wife to drive is how I went.
Depending on how you choose to approach it their are some great companies that can supply power everything.
Or you can search the yards for parts and engineer your own.
All depends on time, money and amount of fab skills you have.
Personally I have little time and rebuilt my '61 in my driveway, so I went the bend over and bolt on route.
However even with bolt on stuff you will have to do a bit of fabrication.
There are some really great fab guys on this site that have scads more knowledge than I.
The important thing is to have fun and save these great trucks

I agree that it is your truck and you should do what you want. I am a near purist myself. I like them near stock, but that being said my rule is don't damage the truck. Chopping or channeling damage the truck. Putting disk brakes on doesn't if it is done right. Flip front is damage, but flashy paint is not.
