Adding rear disc brakes pre 97 f350

Is there a kit available to add rear disc brakes to my 96 F350 w/srw, or a known conversion using later model parts?

Just out of curiosity, what makes you think he'd be disappointed? There'd be no opening them up all the time to clean and lubricate the "self adjusting" drums, pad replacement would be simpler, it'd have more braking power, especially when hauling, etc.

There are a few guys on NLOC putting alot of time into researching FACTORY ford rear disk brakes and bigger front brakes for our trucks.

EVERY rear disc brake kit conversion i have heard or seen does not stop as well as the factory drum brakes.

I know i can lock up my drum brakes just fine and they have over 150k on the original shoes.

Blackbirds makes a conversion kit & TSM also makes a kit, but both of these use cadaillac eldarado caliper to retain the e-brake. But you are using a CAR caliper to try and stop a 6500+lb truck. Not to smart in my book, b plus they dont stop to well and warp rotors from getting hot

there was a conversion i seen a guy used a 98 and newer van rear dis brakes and adaped them to his 97 10.25.It stopped very welll. I think i would of just used the van axle, but a van uses a lighter axle than a pick up. he had to have several one off machined parts made$$$$$$$$$$
