Where is the glow plug controller located on a 2004 6.0 liter diesel

Yep, passenger side valve cover, front corner.

I replaced mine about 2 months ago.

What are your symptoms? I can tell you that if the GPCM module fails, you will get a DTC.

That module cost me a little over $100.
