Does anyone have a picture of the radio wiring diagram for an 88 250? If you have the diagram for the light dimmer switch that'd be awesome too! Thanks ahead of time!
Thanks. My dash lights weren't working so I pulled my radio out to see of there were any wires hooked up wrong. The previous owner had the ground hooked up to the LB/R wire which was the illumination wire. Hooked my ground up to the correct wire and problem fixed!
related to the radio...has anybody swapped in a new radio with a cd player or the sort? Iv been looking into it but how in the world does the antenna disconnect at the back of the radio? I have a 1991 F250
I just found out that the "illumination wire" in the adapter harness for our trucks is not actually attached to the dimmer switch for the interior lights. The only way to actually get your head unit to dim with your interior lights would be to run a wire directly from your dimmer switch to the illumination wire on the head unit. Otherwise you are better off just capping off the wire because it does nothing. This is according to tech support from crutchfield.com

That is correct. Like I said that is at least what the people from Crutchfield told me. I haven't actually traced out the wire on the wiring diagram itself to confirm it.
Well what the heck those people lied. Now I'm going to have to tear my head unit back out and connect up that wire. Thanks for setting me straight. They sounded like they knew what they were talking about but obviously didn't.
