Does anybody know where i can find dually wheels for a 1976? I need the 16" that take the acorn style lug nuts. I've been searching and haven't been able to find anything. I'm looking for the one piece wheels and not the split rim. Everything i've found is either 16.5" or hub piloted. My old split rims have seen some better days and i'm looking to replace them.

 

I had a set off about an '88 f350. I'm not sure what year they went away from the acorn style but they did use them on later models so you could check newer trucks as well.

 

I've been looking for any year, Ford used them for a few years. I've even looked at some trailer wheels. I know they have to be out there. Just need to dig some up.

 

i have 76 dually rear end under my bumpside and i used the style without the acorn nuts .you just make sure you get the ring so you can use acorn nuts




it will make finding rims easier

 

They are tough to come by. Other manufactures used the same wheels, so dont limit your search to just fords. it took me about 7 years to find a nice set of 6 to replace my split rims, and once I did, it cost me 25 bucks per wheel.

 

I've seen those rings, i wonder if that would work with my simulators. I'll have to look into that. I've searched chevy but they are mostly 16.5". I bought two off a 79 in the bone yard, they were beautiful. Still can read the stamped part number with the ford symbol. $50 a piece for those. I put them up front and left the split rims in the back. I feel a lot safer now. Just need four more.

 

they should i don't see why not .i had to run chevy rims up front because the wheel adapter came from a 95 chevy 1 ton dually 4x4. ford has a bigger opening then the chevy dually wheel .

 

I feel bad for you I have so many of those lying around its not funny and the junkyards are packed with them. You also can't use them from a GM product with the small diameter hubs. Look at older GM , Dodge (Yes the new ones still use the same pattern) and ford trucks up til 97 and E-series up until now. You can score some pretty nice rims of a newer E series with DRW or any Dodge DRW truck.

 

these won't work..hub eccentric vs. lug eccentric..you need these, I just sold a set of 4 to a guy in Wyoming, I do have a set of 4 16.5 duallie rims from a 78

 

why not? they are working just find on my truck for the last 7 years

 

luck?? ...are the rims 'locking' into the hub? are those rims that you have in the pic flat or have the convex/concave surface that acts as a lock? they look like the ones that I have on my 88 f350

 

didnt know there was such a difference. I bought 6, and havent gotten around to putting them on. Was going to wait until the bias ply tires on my split rims are shot. Better look at what I got.

 

the fronts are flat with lock ring ,the rears are the same . bought the rears from les shwaub

 

all 6 of my split rims are flat. I bought 6 flat 1 piece to replace them. Thought it was pretty straight forward.

 

if you get a chance can you post up some pics of what you have, I would like to see the detail of them, always open to learn someting different, wonder if that flat ring acts as the locking feature that is in the rim itself, there is a difference in between the newer and older budd/duallie rims, cause my 88 rims won't work on my 77 and vice versa
