1987 Ford F150 Fuse Wiring Diagram

Hello all, I recently bought my first F150 (previously had a F100) and I can't find a diagram for the fuse panel on the inside of the cab. Several of electrical components are not working and many fuses appear to be missing. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Ted

Electrical Nightmare

I just bought a 1987 f-250, 460 motor with a manual trans. I bought it from a tow yard. ( Heres how it started ) 1- I couldnt get the frount tank to work, still has that problem. 2- The starter was real rough when it engaged. 3- after about 200 miles the starter engaged and wouldnt shut off with the key. I replaced the relay on the fender. 4- Windshild wipers came on and wouldnt shut off. 5- Starter came on againand wouldnt shut off even with the key. I couldnt pull over for a minute so it ground the starter gear. 6- I replaced the starter , 1 mile later the starter was back on along with the wipers. I had it towed home.

The harness was melting in certian places. The truck had issues befor doing the same thing ( I found the harnes had been spliced in the same aeras befor)

I'm done whineing, Does any body know about wireing problems with this year truck and can anybody help with wireing diagrams.

Thanks Joey

HI Joey, I see I am responding ten years after you posted this, but I am wondering if you found anything that could fix this situation. Same problems here on my 87 Ford F-150. Starter wasn’t disengaging. So, going to replace the solenoid. Then… trying to figure out what I might have fried after pulling the battery cable off because the starter was still engaging even though the key was taken out.

learning lots, but still needing to learn more.

On a 1987 when the starter won't disengage, either you are still getting power from the ignition switch, OR MOST LIKELY the solenoid is sticking internally. When the starter does stick on pull the hood release and jump out and open the hood then pull disconnect that little slip on wire from the solenoid. If the starter stops, the problem was the ignition switch is not releasing. If the starter continues to run the solenoid is sticking internally, and usually giving the solenoid a few karate chops will release it and save your starter. This has always worked for me.

NOTE: the only way power can get to the starter on a 1987 is through the solenoid unless something has been modified.
