Smile IP or Head Bolts?

I am driving a pre 92.5 7.3idi just replaced all the injectors. But I have to start in with ether all the time even when below 40 degrees. I am going to put a new injector pump on and head bolts instead of head studs due to cost right now, might change my mind later. I am wondering who thinks would be the culprit the low compression or a softy IP that is causing the starting issue, pump is turned up 1.5 flats. Total cost on parts without shipping is around $700 for IP pump, head bolts and Gasket set. Thank you for your thoughts.

Have you checked your glow plugs? What does your "Wait to start" light do? Can you hear the glowplug relay cycle? Did you put a new return line kit on when you did your injectors? You could easily have an air intrusion problem as well.

You definitely need to be checking GP system before you start in with other issues.

Hard starts, especially when cold, are usually due to faulty glowplug system or air intrusion or slow cranking.
Why do you believe you have low compression and why do you think your pump is bad?

I replaced the bullet connectors on the glow plugs new plugs all around, and it has a new relay in it, it cycles just fine not as long as i want so i am going to check again, i might need to set my torque screw back to stock also, i have gone over everything but the IP and Head bolts, The engine has 250,000+ on it so that is the reasoning behind the stretched head bolts, the engine is 21.5:1 really high

That is the same thing my dad said, they replaced the ip and injectors at the same time on the old international tractors and it makes a very noticeable difference, that is what i am going to do first, it only cost $362 plus shipping so it isn't very expensive

Where are you buying them from, you are talking about injectors right ?

Just FYI Pensacola has a surplus of our IPs, just bough one, no core charges no need to return the old unit!
