Truck when I first got it.

Truck a little while later, painted to match xl work bumper, grill, door handles, and 08 bumper. The pic on the dyno was still with the 4'' and 35's, now I have a 8'' and 38-15.50. The only thing else I'd like to do is smoke my badges a tad, and paint to match 05+ mirrors.

Nice... looks sharp! I'll be getting a RanchHand that I'll paint to match the accent color along with some tube steps I'm working on right now.

Question, Cory...

What is your "Excursion Auxilary Tank"? Does the Excursion have it's tank in the rear where our spares are? If so, I'm SO gonna have to look into that...

I made the steps that are on my truck now too, I couldn't find any exactly like I wanted so I just made some.
Yes the ex's tanks are where our spare tires are, its a 44gal tank. You have to cut out the crossmember that holds up the spare tire for it to fit correctly. I just ran some vent lines, plugged the return line, installed a filler neck, and I have a small low volume transfer pump hooked from the feed pickup to my factory fillerneck wired on a switch in the cab.
I decided to do this since I have a shortbed and a toolbox and am already hurting for space. It is really nice to be able to go 1200 mi or so without having to fillup.

My steps are kinda the same way... I found steps, but couldn't justify spending $350 for what I can build for free. I have pictures and will start a thread when I get done...

As for the tank, the thought of cutting out that X-member isn't thrilling... what'd you replace it with? Do I need to replace it with anything? What's there instead on the Excursions?

How about this... I'm taking my own thread outta topic!

well here is my ole 99 f350. just about done with it. I have spent the last two months nights and weekends practically rebuilding her. Long story short I painted her with a dupont custom tri coat(base/pearl/clear) which i mixed myself. It got an efx cowl hood, color matched handles, mirrors, bumpers, grille, 05 headlight conversion, procomp 6.5" lift, helo 20s with 35 tires. Installed recon smoked cab lights and third brake light, I smoked the rear tailights myself with black basecoat tint color mixed with clear. Still waiting on Katzkin leather to come in to redo interior. I could go on and on. I was going to buy a new truck but once i started looking at prices i decided against it. I own a collision shop so the labor was on me.

I did have it mounted up with allthread, and have since taken it back out here recently last week and am making some small cross members front and rear for it to bolt to.
I didn't notice much of a difference without it there really, I have a class 5 receiver hitch and its a good bit stouter than factory so I wasn't to worried about it.
On the ex's IIRC it just bolts up to the 4 studs in the floor supports in between the frame and there is no cross member there.

I just stopped in at the local dealer to rub my ol' 7.3L (sporting brand new rims and tires) in their faces and I stopped and looked at a cab and chassis truck and saw how it went in there. Makes sense... I may have to look into this mod. Thanks, Cory!

Nice trucks, fellas!

Actually the cab/chassis truck tanks are a little different, but there was another member here who used on of those awhile back, It was an obs IIRC.
Here is a link to the thread with some pictures of mine from awhile back, and should answer most of your questions. As mentioned though, I removed the tank last week and am going to be reinstalling it with a tube crossmember front and rear of the tank.
