Have you searched the local salvage yards?

Not locally (Tulsa),
Could you recommend a few for older Ford truck parts?
Thanks!

Just remember, there are actually 2 different tailgates used between 80 and 86. 80/81 used folding metal straps to limit tailgate opening, while 83-86 used cables. I'm not positive which style was used in 82, perhaps both depending on build date.
I have been told the hinges also differ, but I cannot confirm this.

It would be hit and miss. According to a 2007 guide I have these one advertise Ford trucks
Able 588-3232 1634 E. Pine
Beards 587-6747 2039 N. Yale
Danny's 836-6801 9101 E. $6th street north
Plainview Salvage 266-5811 23610 E. Admiral Pl
LKQ 428-3835 3124 N. Peoria This place is actually 2 places in one. One yard is off limits to us average person, while next door is open to the public. Prices here seemed reasonable when I was hunting Grand Prix parts.

Good luck
