Midwestern Invasion

Well seeing as I am one of the last people left in Michi-can't these days, I decided to do something drastic. It's a long story, but the basics are these: I have approx. 6 six weeks to get packed up and moved to Seattle, specifically somewhere within a reasonable commute of Renton. Didn't really expect to get a job so quickly, so now I have to scramble. Anyways, Just wanted to say hello, and depending on how busy I am, you may be seeing more of me floating around in your neighboorhood here. If anyone has any advice on finding someplace (anyplace) to live and/or culture shock, lemme know, I'll probably need it.

...just something to think about. Look at a map of Seattle/Bellevue... towards the north of Seattle is the 520 that runs east and west. When looking for a place to live stay south of the 520 otherwise you commute will suk during the typical 9 to 5 hours.

Anywhere on the east side of the lake (Lake Washington) between Bellevue and Renton you should be fine. If you are looking south of Seattle on the west side of the lake, check with me first and I can give you a thumbs up or down based on experience. As a side note, White Center is also know as "Rat City". You can do an Internet search on "rat city" seattle and you will see why. As a rough rule of thumb, going south of Renton anything east of Interstate 5 will more likely be better than west of Interstate 5. So just off the cuff, I would look for a place to live to the east or northeast of Renton. And if you are looking at something inside the city limits of Seattle, check with me first.

... let us know what you would like, is it some place to buy or rent, and apartment or house, garage or not. Share some details and I am sure a bunch of us can throw some ideas your way.

Something cheap and short term to start with, until I'm sure this is gonna work out. Working flat rate, you're never quite sure how much you might make week to week, so I don't want to get into anything too expensive until I get a feel for how my paychecks are gonna be. Single guy, not bringing much with me, so all I'm looking for is something pretty basic until I get established. I just don't want to be right in a war zone or a complete pit, otherwise, I doesn't need to be fancy at all.

Welcome to the state, don't let the seattleites fool you, we really are nice people.

The PNW is God's country, you'll never want to leave. I just need to get back to the east side!
