Hella Optilux replacement bulbs, Anybody use them?

My OEM headlights are not as bright as I think they should be. Did some looking around and saw these bulbs on Hella's site. I have had really satisfying experiences with Hella products. These bulbs are a higher wattage than standard OEM bulbs so I was wondering if anyone has any experience with these bulbs or any info on them. Thanks!

What bulb do you run?

Hella is pretty good stuff, but I loved my PIAA Extreme white plus bulbs. They are on the pricey side, but the technology is worth it. The 9008 OE harnesses and alot of the 9007 harnesses don't handle the extra amperage of high out bulbs so well. The Piaa's pull stock wattages but produce more light. The cheap white bulbs were often voltage sensitive, and all but required a relay harness, but the harness did eliminate the OE plug problem.

What kind of bulb do I run? I think it's an H13, but I have to look to be sure. The Hella Optilux is a higher wattage bulb, 80 and 100 I think. I like the standard halogen color which seems to have a little yellow hue in it as opposed to the bright white color of some of these other bulbs.. I just would like more of it. The super bright white colors I've seen on many of these bulbs seem to strain my eyes.

H13/9008 is in pretty much anything new. The OE plugs for those were finicky, I read a lot of stories on the internets(so they had to be true) about high watt bulbs melting the plug. Just something to be aware of.

Try Sylvania Silverstar bulbs. I have used them in all my vehicles and been very happy. I like them so much I even put them in my squad car. I also have them in a BMW 328i and am about to put them in my 2010 F-350 Super Duty I just purchased. They also have a great line of replacement bulbs for turn signals and the such. Plus, they can be found pretty much anywhere.
