65 352 Engine Compartment Paint Colors??
I'm going to touch up my engine compartment in my 65 Ford F100 over the winter.
I'm wondering if anyone know what colors to paint the various parts?
1) Oil Bath Air Cleaner - Semi-gloss Black?
2) Valve Covers - They are gold but does anyone know a good spray can color match?
3) Inner Fender Wells - Semi-gloss Black?
4) Any other information will be appreciated.
Thanks

Don't quote me on this but I think the oil bath cleaner is gloss black.
The engine compartment should be a semi-gloss black and one of the best is Dupli-Color DE 1635. Eastwood's Underhood Black is too flat to really be correct.
Valve covers are gold and in cans I have only seen Universal Gold. I used that but I think I am going to change. I just tried some of Eastwood's Ceramic Engine paint in Dark Ford Blue and Chrysler Blue. Comes in quart cans and can be sprayed or brushed on. I brushed in on my Performer manifold and it look fantastic. Dries glossy and hard unlike spray cans. So I got the Gold paint called Oldsmobile gold to try out. The covers will be sprayed for a smooth look. The manifold didn't need to be sprayed at all since it has a texture to begin with.
Below Cougar 302 with Eastwood and then Mustang 289 with Dupli-Color spray paint. I'll take the Eastwood.

In all honesty, I pulled them off a 65 that was in the salvage yard, blasted and painted them... I recall it being a straight pull and the install was simple too, but that was a while ago.
